a huge thanks to garnet (who knows everything there is to know about cars!...and also knows how to barter well...) and to my mom and dad for an early Christmas gift!!
I am super excited!!!...i just have to learn how to drive stick by wednesday! ;)
so no more asking for rides, i get to give them! :)

Congratulations! I've been driving stick for a couple years and it's fantastic...
After you get into driving stick, automatic just plain is never the same.
A few things: the best way to learn the clutch is to use it, a lot. Find somewhere safe (ie. abandoned parking lot) and have at it. Since you already know how to "drive" the main thing is getting used to shifting. Also, this will come with time, but Neutral is your best friend... going down a hill? Neutral. Got good momentum and just need to coast for a bit? Neutral. It's one of the best parts about driving stick: you're in control of your gas consumption in a way automatic can't even touch.
