Finally!!
ok ...finally after starting to open this page since 11:30pm it has finally worked and i can finally update! for some reason blogger has not let me get to this page for the last week or so...frustrating!!
anyway...
wow! where do i begin! my exams went well...and i had a fantastic week off (that is still occuring, but we will get to that later!)
i spent the first half at Jessi's. and i would recommend looking at her blog for some hilarious pics! we go crazy when we get together! i love it!! when i was younger i never dreamed that we would ever be this close...i mean its kind of funny to think back on the things we used to fight over! lol! But now we can laugh at the craziest things...woof...and yet understand each other and support each other through the toughest things. I love you babe!
i also had a super amazing time with my Batman (incase you didn't know my nephew is a super-hero!) He is so smart and funny! He reads incredibly well for a SKer, and he even has good fashion sense; he helped Jess and i on our shopping spree and picked out the shirt i wore on my birthday! plus he is a fantastic pancake maker,whoopped my butt at game cube racing, and can skate laps around anyone (even you Josh-man!)!! what a kid! :)
it was nice to have a little time with Anne too! (Happy Birthday!! hope things went well this weekend!)
well...then it was time to take the long bus ride up north!
it was busy (as usual) but i got to spend some quality time with each of my brothers, my best friends, my mentors, my grandma and cousins, and my parents...so it was well worth the trip!
i think i take for granted how wonderful it is to go home to the people i love and care about and who know and love me. nothing beats sitting down and really talking with someone, and sharing the real things, talking about life and the ups and downs and knowing that you are loved and will love no matter what.
i think its like that with God too. too often we either over- 'religiousize' prayer or make it too surface and fluffy. But nothing beats getting to the point where you can be so real with The One who knows you better than you know yourself (and still loves you), and really honestly talk about life - the ups and downs - and know that love and honesty is always going to be returned to you but also accountability and responsibility. mmm...i love it! :)
kind of along the same lines, if you get a chance Please read my friend Matt's blog (under links) on plants...he has a way with words! :)
so in other things...i got back to windsor just in time for one day of classes...yep, one! and then the Ontario college teachers decided to strike... so now i am almost done my second week of no classes (third if you count my reading break) and although its nice to stay in my pjs all day and slowly work at my homework and have no real stress or deadlines, i would not wish this on anyone! i understand things happen for a reason, and that when i get back things will be worked out - i can't miss out on any of the schooling i need for placement - i am more frustrated for the people who have leases, or placements/other committments in april/may (see Jake's blog). it just pushes back a lot of things...and besides no one likes a strike! reasons aside there has to be a better way to get their point across!! kind of a funny story though...if anyone was listening to CBC radio in Windsor, you may have heard my little opinion on the college tuition hike/strike!! lol... i was the only student in the caf when they came around!
oh and i'm 22 now! :) that one day of classes, happen to fall on my birthday! fun stuff! i kind of celebrated it with my family when i was home and then on that day Jen's family came over for dinner...it was really nice!! :) and then on wednesday Kate and Suzy took me out for supper. it was fun! thats the one thing i miss since being out of school, seeing my friends!! its going to be so weird not having them all around next year! :(
